Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Do I need dance shoes?

A: No, you don't need dance shoes unless you want them. Our instructors are happy to provide recommendations at your request. We do recommend that you wear comfortable shoes that have smooth soles (leather, suede, etc).

  • Q: Can I bring a friend?

A: Yes! You're welcome to have a friend to join you on your lesson with no additional charge

  • Q: How long are lessons?

A: Private Lessons are 45 minutes

  • Q: Do I need a partner?

A: No! None of our services require you to have a partner, INCLUDING competing and performing

  • Q: When can I schedule my lessons?

A: We always encourage you to schedule your lessons ahead of time as we can not guarantee the availability of your instructor each week, however you can request a recurring spot to make scheduling easier for you.

  • Q: What forms of payment do you take?

A: We accept Cash, Card, Venmo, Cashapp and Zelle

  • Q: Do I need to RSVP for Group Class?

A: You do not need to sign up ahead of time, you're welcome to drop in as often as you like.

  • Q: How do I schedule?

A: You can call or text 832-764-2087 to schedule your lessons, or book one of our lessons online!

  • Q: What should I wear?

A: Anything that is comfortable and allows you to move freely. Sneakers, boots, tennis shoes, and dance shoes are typically okay to dance in, however your instructor can give you their personal recommendation based on what style of dance you are learning.

  • Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: You can find all the details regarding cancellation in your agreement but generally, we require a 24 hour notice or you will lose your lesson.

  • Q: Do I need any experience in order to do the group classes?

A: It is not mandatory to have any experience before joining into a group class, however even though we have designated beginner group classes, we often practice foundation and technique even in beginner classes, so it is always recommended to take a few private lessons before jumping into group classes. We find that students can get more out of all of the classes once they have had a few lessons to work 1:1 with an instructor and solidify the basics.

  • Q: Is there an age limit?

A: We are an 18+ studio however exceptions can be made depending on circumstance so please communicate with the studio manager or your instructor to discuss further details.

  • Q: What is the fastest way to become a better dancer?

A: Like with anything, rapid improvement comes from repetition and practice. You can always request homework and videos from your instructor as well as utilize the @zdancellc Instagram and Youtube pages to learn more on your own. We also encourage our students to come to group classes and lessons as often as possible to get as much practice time as possible with as many different dancers as they can. Community leads to opportunity.
